Laptops with Nvidia graphics card recall litigation

There have been alot of clients bringing in their laptops with a built in Nvidia graphics card for repair. The problems that shows up is the laptop will either not turn on, will turn on but nothing will show up on the screen, and distorted video. This is due to the Nvidia chips simply overheating themselves and failing. This affects laptop manufacturers from HP, Compaq, Dell and Apple. These manufacturers offered a one year extension to their models affected by this problem. The problem with this has been that they never advertised it or problem occured after the standard 1 year warrenty and 1 year extension. The solution by the manufacturers have been to replace the motherboard / systemboard with many laptops still failing after several attempts.

Now you can file a claim to either get reimbursed for paying for repairs or get your laptop replaced. The deadline to file a claim is March 14, 2011.
