Do you have an old USB flash drive or SD flash disk lying around in your drawer? You can use it with Windows Vista or Windows 7 to make your PC faster using ReadyBoost. This works for your laptop and desktop. Most laptops and desktops come with a built in flash card reader that you can use, instead of having a USB drive sticking out of the side of your PC. Basically what it does is use the flash drive as cache for your most used programs.
1. Plug in your USB flash drive or SD flash disk and select “Speed up my system”
2. Choose the Dedicate This Device to ReadyBoost option and click OK.
3. Windows will now configure the drive then restart your computer. Just use your computer as you normally would and frequently used programs will be stored on the ReadyBoost drive.
