There have been many users reporting that their email accounts have been hacked. This goes for all major sites such as gmail, aol, yahoo, hotmail and others. Clients have been calling wondering whether their computers are infected. Usually they start hearing from other people on their address book that they are receiving spam messages. The messages would say something like they are stuck in London without any cash or passports and they needed money to be sent to them. Their computers do not have a virus infection but their easy passwords were the problem. Not only does spam get sent using your email but some clients have reported that their address books were erased as well. So we recommend everyone to change their password to have at least 8 characters, 1 uppercase letter and 1 number. All the major site have also setup a system where you can recover your password with secret answer and question system. This not only provides a way for you to recover your password but also adds another layer of protection from having your account hacked.
